We rejoice with Chilean people, says Manmohan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has greeted Chilean President Sebastián Piñera Echenique on the successful rescue of 33 miners, who were trapped for 69 days in the San Jose mine.

The Prime Minister, in a letter to Mr. Piñera, said: “We rejoice with the people of Chile that the miners are free, safe and reunited with their dear and loved ones. We have watched with admiration the courage and fortitude displayed by the miners and their families throughout this long ordeal, and your personal leadership over the last several weeks.”
