July 13, 2016 12:36 am | Updated December 04, 2021 10:46 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded the dismissal of the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of unrest in the State after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani.

“The BJP’s experiment of forming a government with the PDP headed by Mehbooba Mufti has totally failed. That is why her government should be dismissed immediately and President’s Rule imposed,” VHP joint general secretary Surendra Jain said.

Mr. Jain accused Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of “acting as a spokesperson of terrorists and separatists.”

He demanded the arrest of both Ms. Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah for allegedly supporting terrorists. The VHP leader sought shoot-at-sight orders against terrorists.

Alleging attacks on Amarnath pilgrims, the VHP said it was “unacceptable” and warned that targeting Hindus would have “serious repercussions.”
