BJP on Friday alleged that the Supreme Court quashing the disproportionate assets case against BSP leader Mayawati was an indictment of the government which was “misusing” the investigative agencies for political gains.
“This is a serious indictment of the UPA government which has turned the investigative agency as a tool to garner political support for its survival,” BJP spokesperson Tarun Vijay told reporters reacting to the verdict.
He said there were several cases in Gujarat, Rajasthan and elsewhere in the country which were “examples of the misuse” of such investigative agencies for political gains by the government.
“It is time the government should restore the credibility and independence of investigative agencies in the interest of democracy,” he said.
The Supreme Court on Friday quashed a nine-year-old disproportionate assets case against her and pulled up the CBI for initiating the probe against her without specific directions from the court.

I fail to understand in whose pocket the money of NRHM,MNREGA scams goes.I feel disproportionate assets will surface if fair investigation is done for every post having signing/approving authority. The system of taking bribe, siphoning off money of various social schemes and taking commissions from contractors for passing bills, tendering etc. exist in all government departments and it has taken a highly institutionalized shape.Corruption has organizational structure now and every table and every post has percentage cut of commission.I don't understand why big ingenious people fail to develop corruption safe systems by adopting e-tendering, online payments, computerization, electronic assessment of quality of work etc. Why there exist loopholes for making easy money. Why government fail to adopt auction root in case of scarce resources like spectrum and mining. Is the government insane to see wrongs happening in every department or it himself utilize and enjoy systemic errors.

Just initiating the probe against her without specific directions from the court, doesn't mean that there is no prima facie element exists related to this issue as there is a clear evidence, when considering the increase in her assests by 49 crores over just 4 years from the intital declared income of 1 crore only between the years 2003 to 2002. How is it possible? Just because the Supreme Court shuts its eyes and mind, doesn't go well the actual justice system!
