Venkat elected ABC chairman

The Director of Eenadu I. Venkat was unanimously elected as chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) for the year 2016-17. He is also the chairman of Media Research Users Council (MRUC) and Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF).

He is on the board of the Foundation, the International News Media Association (INMA), Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

Mr. Venkat has had a long innings at the Indian Newspaper Society as a board member and has been active in both print and TV industry bodies.

Debabrata Mukherjee, vice-president, Marketing and Commercial, India and South West Asia, Coca Cola India Pvt. Ltd., representing Advertisers category on the Council was unanimously elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Bureau.

Other members on the Bureau’s council of management include: Publishers Representatives: Mr. Venkat, chairman; Shailesh Gupta, Jagran Prakashan; Hormusji N. Cama, The Bombay Samachar; Devendra V. Darda, Lokmat Media; Beony Roychowdhury, HT Media Ltd.; Chandan Majumdar, ABP Pvt Ltd.; Raj Kumar Jain, Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd.; Pratap G. Pawar, Sakal Papers Pvt Ltd.; Advertisers Representatives: Mr. Mukherjee, deputy chairman; Hemant Malik, ITC Limited, honorary Secretary; Sandip Tarkas, Future Retail Ltd.; Mayank Pareek, Tata Motors Ltd.

Advertising Agencies Representatives: Madhukar Kamath, DDB Mudra Pvt. Ltd., honorary treasurer; Shashidhar Sinha, IPG Mediabrands, India; Srinivasan K Swamy, R.K. Swamy BBDO Pvt. Ltd.; and CVL Srinivas, Group M Media India Pvt. Ltd..

Hormuzd Masani will be Secretary General of the Secretariat, a release from the ABC said.
