The bail plea of the youth who allegedly inflicted knife injuries on former Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore, convicted in the molestation case, will come up for hearing in a local court on Friday.

Utsav Sharma was yesterday remanded to judicial custody by Civil Judge Paramjit Kaur.

The 29-year-old youth, a student at Ahmedabad’s prestigious N.I.D., stabbed 68-year-old Rathore thrice in the face with a pocket knife on Monday while posing as a journalist.

The incident had occurred when Rathore was coming out of the court after a hearing.

After the incident, Utsav, who is said to be suffering from a psychological disorder, was arrested and on Tuesday was remanded to a day’s police remand.

Utsav’s parents had reached here from Varanasi on Tuesday after the incident.
