South Block meeting amid stalemate in Devyani case

U.S. Ambassador Nancy Powell on Monday came to South Block and met Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh against the backdrop of the stalemate in the Devyani Khobragade case and the end of Christmas-New Year vacation in the U.S. that heralds a pickup in bilateral discussions.

Significantly, it was a “pre-arranged meeting,” a week before Dr. Khobragade is to appear before a New York court for the trial of visa fraud charges against her.
