US condoles Rajasekhara Reddy’s death

The US on Thursday condoled the death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Reddy and others in Wednesday’s helicopter crash.

Paying tributes to Reddy, the US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer said, “The Chief Minister was a strong supporter of the US-India friendship and our bilateral partnership, visible in the strong economic and family ties between the people of Andhra Pradesh and the United States.”

In a statement here, Mr. Roemer offered condolences on behalf of the US government to Reddy’s family as well as to the families of others who died along with him.

Besides the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, his Special Secretary, P Subramanyam, Chief Security Officer, A.S.C. Wesley, pilot Group Captain, S.K. Bhatia, and co-pilot M.S. Reddy were killed in the crash.
