The pre-lunch session of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday was stalled, as Opposition members, displaying copies of a newspaper that carried a report alleging the involvement of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis deal, demanded his resignation. On the other hand, Congress members demanded the dismissal of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh over reported killing of a farmer in police firing.

The House was adjourned thrice till 2 p. m. Disruption began as soon as Speaker Meira Kumar welcomed a delegation from Saudi Arabia and read out an obituary reference over the demise of the former member, Teklal Mahto.

Congress members began raising slogans against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh over the reported farmer killing in Bareli town on Monday. They demanded the dismissal of the government.

BJP and AIADMK members were on their feet, creating uproar over the alleged role of Mr. Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis deal. They sought his resignation.

As the noise rose, the Speaker announced adjournment for an hour till noon. However, the scene was no different when the House reassembled. Ms. Kumar adjourned the House again for half-an-hour. When it met again, the uproar continued and it was adjourned till 2 p.m.
