Body of U.P. Minister’s daughter found after 11 days

After 11 days of rigorous search, the body of 24-year-old Abida Hasan, daughter of Uttar Pradesh’s Labour Minister Shahid Manzoor, was found on Thursday.

Pauri Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Joshi said, "The body was in a slightly decomposed state and was found floating near the Pashulok barrage [in Pauri district]."

On May 10, Abida, who was a student of medicine at a medical college in Meerut, was visiting Rishikesh along with few other friends, when, she along with her friends was on the banks of the Ganga at Phoolchatti in Pauri district when her leg slipped and she drowned.

Over 100 personnel including those of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Army, local police were searching for her body for the past 11 days.
