Social activist Anna Hazare came out strongly against the government's Citizens' Charter bill on Tuesday, calling it a “weak structure” and “a way to disorient the people”.

Stating that going by the government's behaviour, even the Lokpal Bill will not be satisfactory to Team Anna, Mr. Hazare announced that he will fast for three days from December 27. A jail bharo andolan will be launched on December 30, he said, speaking to reporters in Ralegan Siddhi along with team member Arvind Kejriwal.

Mr. Kejriwal stated that the fast will be held in Mumbai.

The Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday. It calls for every government public authority or government department to publish a Citizens' Charter that lists all the services that the department has to render along with timelines.

Team Anna had demanded that the ‘Citizens' Charter' be made a part of the Lokpal Bill — one of the demands that were given an ‘in principle' approval by the Parliament in August this year. By introducing it as a separate bill, Team Anna feels that it was cheated. “It has been proven once again that the government's character is not clean,” Mr. Hazare said.

“We condemn this attitude of the government,” he said, adding that he would then tour the five poll-bound States.

“We are repeatedly told by the government that we are disrespecting the Parliament, whereas now they are doing exactly the same thing,” Mr. Hazare said.

Stating that the Bill is not “decentralised,” Mr. Kejriwal said this structure would “collapse in three days.”

“It is clear from this Bill that the government will not keep its promise on the Lokpal Bill as well. The government is blind: it cannot see the injustice being done to the people,” Mr Hazare said.

I propose these people must float a new political party, contest for election for state and Loksabha. Then they will come know how many percentage of people are with Anna Team and with the political party. Since Kejriwal and Kiran are advocating for BJP, let the Bill passed in this session, in due course support BJP/NDA come to power, then they can dictate thier wishes of Lokpal. This will be appropriate. Stop pressure tactics.

I support the demand for a strong lok pal bill in our corruption ridden country. There is urgent need for such a thing. Now both the government and team Anna are turning their cards. Who will prevail? My concern is that while it is very courageous of team Anna to take such a position against the government, yet it is uncertain about the genuinity of the movement. Laws cannot be made in Jantar Manter (as the government spokes persons have been voicing). The Congress government will find it hard to bow before a bunch of so-called anti-corruption crusades. It is however,in the mandate of the government to prove to the people that it does not fall under the dictate of individuals outside the government; and that it can achieve by doing things right.

It is general rule that for corruption to take place Two persons are needed. One the giver and another taker.Anna and lokpal wants to attack the taker by this bill.He has no ideas to stop the giver. Also there is a very very high percentage of people not falling in any of the above categories. They also suffer and live, some die also. The proposed bill even drafted to suit Anna and his team would not directly or indirectly help the sufferers. The corruption might disappear from the country but it would not in any way solve the problems of the poor who have many problems even after getting all freebies,TVs,cycles etc. Who would come and lead to address these issues?

Anything that does not meet 100% of Anna's demands is "weak". He forgets that he has no formal mandate from the people. His abuse of the political power of fasting is both illegal and unethical.

I start to read news only because of this janlokpal issue going on, I think this is very important thing to our next generation, hence I reading online paper every 30 minute to see new developments, and responding in time honestly. I learned Rs.1000000000000.00 spent for a game what happen, in our prime minister version may be ability to spending money is also a development, if the money have gone to the Indian villages under the strict surveillance of lokpal or any monitoring system which prevent the looting in between the transaction, at least 10 crore cows may milking in our village (9000/- per a cow if 10% misused) 100 crore liter milk that is Rs.3500 crore/day, Rs.105000crore/month, this is not a cow boy dream but we burned it within months, plus added a shame feather to our crown, no political party expressed concern about this. That is why a villager emerges to safeguard them after 60 years while Politician shows interest only in their vote.
