UFBU calls bank strike from Feb. 10

January 27, 2014 04:52 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:03 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The United Forum of Bank Unions has called a 48-hour, nationwide strike from February 10, as there is no further improvement in the Indian Banks’ Association’s initial offer of wage revision, UFBU convener M.V. Murali said on Monday.

Bipartite talks were held between the IBA and the UFBU in Mumbai for more than three hours. The managements increased their offer from 9.5 to 10 per cent. However, the unions rejected the increase, saying it was “inadequate.”
