LeT terrorist Mohammad Naved was on Saturday brought to the Kashmir Valley by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to gather information on other LeT militants active in the region.
“LeT terrorist Usman alias Qasim Khan of Faisalabad, who was arrested after he carried out the terror strike on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on August 5, was brought to the valley today [Saturday] by the NIA,” an official told IANS .
Sources said the 23-year-old will be taken to all the places that he had mentioned during interrogation after he was overpowered by two of the three villagers he had taken as hostages.
During interrogation, he said that he had stayed at Tangmarg and Baba Reshi and shifted base to Awantipura-Pulwama in South Kashmir where he remained inside a cave located on a hill side.
A case under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Arms Act and various sections of Indian Penal Code has been registered against Naved and his accomplice.
The NIA took over investigations after the Centre issued notification asking the central probe agency to handle the probe and get evidences which could be presented to Pakistan.
