Two powerful bombs exploded on Wednesday morning at Singjamei area in Imphal west district. Sources said that the first explosion occurred at Sapam Leikai near Singjamei market at 6 am. The next blast took place after a short while at the river bank near Manipur college.
There was no casualty in both the blasts.
No one has claimed responsibility of the blasts so far. Big craters were noticed at the places of the blasts. A team of police and CRPF rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
Following this, security has been tightened in Imphal East and West districts.
