Two militants arrested in Manipur

Two militants of banned Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP—MC) have been arrested by a combined team of police commandos and Assam Rifles personnel in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said on Sunday.

The commandos, attached to Imphal West district police station, and personnel of 26th Assam Rifles battalion nabbed the two militants from Awangboc area near here last night during frisking of passersby.

The two were identified as Heikham Roshan (19) and Mutum Bungo (22).

Two AK 47 rifles, one mobile phone and two extortion demand letters were seized from them, the police said.
