Two killed, three injured in explosion in Agra

Two girls were killed and three other persons injured when an explosion took place in a two-storied house in Baluganj area, with the police suspecting it was caused by a cylinder.

The whole structure came down and of Baljit Singh, his wife Indrajeet, and three daughters were buried in the debris, an official of the Rakabganj Police Station said.

Early indications suggest it could have been a gas cylinder blast, but it can only be confirmed after investigation into the incident is completed, police said.

Several houses in the vicinity were damaged in the blast.

Tourists in a nearby hotel rushed out of the hotel for safety. Police rescue team, fire brigade, forensic and bomb disposal squad have reached the spot.
