Security forces killed two ‘commanders’ of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in a fierce gunfight in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said on Monday.

On a tipoff, a party of the police and the Army launched an operation on Friday night in the Chamal-Chilli area. An encounter took place when militants fired on the party, Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Singh said.

Brigadier General Staff (BGS) of 16 Corps Brig. Gurdeep Singh told PTI that the two slain militants were identified as Yasir Ahmed alias Mubasher and Mustaq Ahmed alias Tallah.
