Two COBRA commandos injured in Bastar encounter

Two commandos of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an encounter with the Maoists in Sukma District of South Chhattisgarh on Sunday night.

A joint team of COBRA and the state police had launched a combing operation in the Maoist sensitive Bastar region on Friday. The Maoists opened fire on the team near Pidmed village of Konta block, injuring two COBRA jawans, informed the police.

The injured constable Joginder Singh and constable Shivram of the 208 COBRA battalion posted in Chintagufa camp, were airlifted to Raipur for further treatment.
