The Manali Police has speeded up the investigations in the rape of a 25-year-old Israeli woman on Sunday morning and has also made two arrests by the evening on Monday. The assault on woman has been confirmed in the medical report and we would soon nab all the culprits responsible for the attack with the help of CCTV footage, said Padam Chand SP of Kullu.

The Israeli tourist has alleged that she had taken a lift from a car in which there were already five people sitting in the wee hours on Sunday. She told the Manali Police that she was assaulted by two people and the other people didn’t help her. She said she tried her best to save herself but it was pitch dark and there was nobody around. She was not able to identify the location or the car that was not having a proper number plate.

The woman tourist was taken to the regional hospital Kullu by the Police who have also informed the Israel Embassy.

An American woman was also raped a few years ago by some Nepalese truckers when she had taken a lift in the late hours of the night.
