After refusing to cooperate with the doctors attending on him for about 10 hours since Tuesday midnight, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president, K. Chandrasekhara Rao, who is fasting since 11 days, allowed doctors to administer intravenous fluids and other medication since 1 pm on Wednesday leading to improvement in his health condition.

Informing this to media persons here on Wednesday evening Director of Medical Education T. Ravi Raju stated that the doctors had resumed injecting intravenous fluids and antibiotics once KCR started cooperating with them. Blood sample was also taken and tests indicated that his condition was near normal compared to Tuesday.

His kidneys were functioning normally and sodium, potassium and albumin levels were also good. He was also conscious and speaking to his family members. However, he was increasingly getting weak due to continuous fasting, Dr. Ravi Raju explained.

Overall, the health condition of KCR was stable but he was very weak at the same time. The fasting MP had lost about 2.5 kg weight due to continuous fasting. He was taking plain water sometimes.

In the morning, the DME expressed concern over KCR’s health as the latter was refusing to cooperate with the doctors and if continued his health would deteriorate very fast. The doctors had suggested he should resume oral feed and medication immediately.
