Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde made a flash visit to Hyderabad on Friday morning and saw for himself the damage caused by the twin bomb blasts in Dilsukhnagar, the thickly populated area here, accompanied by Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and top officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), including its Director-General S.C. Sinha.
Huge crowds that thronged the site jostled to break the police cordon to get a closer look of the leaders as they made an on-the-spot study of the dastardly bomb attacks.
Mr. Shinde later said an all-inclusive investigation into the serial bomb blasts was in progress and the persons who had masterminded the crime, would be identified and caught soon. “We will leave no stone unturned to achieve immediate results on this front,” he told reporters at Lakeview Guesthouse.
The Home Minister flew in here by a special aircraft from Delhi and drove straight to the blood-stained blast sites which resembled a war-ravaged zone. A visibly upset Mr Shinde, who earlier had served as Andhra Pradesh Governor, also visited CARE Hospital at Nampally where most of the injured persons are being treated. He spoke with some of them, trying to get a first-hand account of how it all happened. He declined to divulge anything further about the incident on the ground that Parliament was in session. He said it was too early to blame any organisation or outfit, including the Indian Mujahideen, for the blasts.
‘No area-specific alerts’
Mr Shinde categorically said his Ministry did not issue any “area-specific alert” to the Andhra Pradesh Government three to four days ago with a warning that incidents such as bomb blasts would occur, as being talked of. What was issued was “a general alert” to all the States, he said.
He did not agree with the contention that the blasts were a result of intelligence failure. He did not confirm when asked if any source of phone-tapping was identified in this connection as alleged.
He said the AP Government would bear the entire medical expenditure for treatment of the injured, besides the ex gratia already announced by it on Thursday—Rs 6 lakh for the families of each of those killed and Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh to each of the injured persons.
The blasts, he stated, claimed 14 lives so far, while the condition of six of the 119 injured persons was “critical.” The number of casualties could go up, he indicated.

What good is there in such terrorist activities?
Why does some faction resort to such inhuman things?
The perpetrators of this heinous act have no religion and deserve to get either hanged in public or shot dead. This tragedy is a crime on humanity. Let's not point finger on any community here. Flawed fundamentals of a few groups can't be faulted on the entire community. Its applicable to all.
If and when the culprits are caught and undergo trial, what are
votaries of abolition of death sentence, who shout from the roof tops
that a life given by God can be taken only by Him, going to say ? The
Home Ministry should take it as a direct challenge to our Nation,
apprehend the culprits quickly and after speedy trial ( the courts too
should quicken the process of justice delivery - with the same speed
applied for the procedures for Presidential pardon - and those who
committed this 'rarest of the rare' crime should be publicly hanged in
the same crime scene.Such public hanging should not be delayed for 15
or 20 years. Only such an exemplary punishment will put a permanent
end to such acts of terrorism in India.
One may agree or not in recent times Hyderabad became IED testing hub for
extremists. This must be terminated from gross roots urgently which I
think only possible with active participation of both public and private
entities, blaming government or entirely depending on India premier Spy
agency is not a wise thing.
Condemning the two blasts which shook the whole country resulting in
the loss of innocent lives and injuring scores in a much crowded place
in Hydrabad, I would say that the perpetrators should be given
harshest punishment so that their wrath would take the final journey
with their demise.
This is the need of the hour that we should come together to fight
the terrorism forgetting our differences on the line of caste, creed,
color and religion etc. Whoever is committing such heinous crime
should not be painted with the religious brush. They should just be
seen as criminals and anti-social elements who celebrate on taking
innocent lives.
The government should also be taking precarious steps to eliminate
such crimes to take place in future by beefing up the security in
every nook and corner of the country. The duty of police is not just to
lathi-charge on the silent or angry protesters, but also providing
safety to each and every citizen in all possible ways. This time to
unite and fight..
The swiftness with which senior officials are taking grip post blast is a remarkable improvement in our probe and investigation process. We have a learnt a lot through many such incidents in the last three decades. An equal and effective means to detect possible occurrence following a plot is the need of the day. It is difficult but considering the advances made in investigation through forensic, electronic and technological means, it is definitely within the reach of our guardians of security.
It seems Kiran Kumar Reddy ,Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is solely
responsible for the tragedy in Hyderabad cuased by twin bombs blast in
Dilsukhnagar-Hyderabad.Why I fix Kiran Kumar Reddy is the fact that he
is always absent from Hyderabad and always present in New Delhi where
he gets daily briefs.Chief Minister of a State must be always
available in State Capital and not give instructions sitting in New
Delhi.Administration in the State has collapsed in the absence of an
effective Chief Minister.Congressmen namely Ministers behave as if
they themselves are Chief Minister of this State.Telengana agitation
has ruined the state.Law & Order has broken down, and one does not know
what is happening in this State and from where this State is being
ruled,Hyderabad or New Delhi.Situation demands that Chief Minister
Kiran Kumar Reddy be dismissed immediately and President Rule imposed
in the State till such times normalcy is restored in the State.
Utter systemic failure. I don't know why Hyderabad has become a womb for
all the terrorist activities. Gokul chat and Lumbini park now
Dilsukhnagar, what was the government doing these many years? The police
is aware of the CCTV trespassing 4 days before this heart burning
incident. Why didn't they act at the right time? Need a strong patriotic
law like the US to curb those who are involved in this ruthless inhumane
practice. May the peace rest upon the innocent people's soul.
Home minister visited the private Care Hospital but not the public
Osmania General Hospital. This is reflective of the ideology which is
pushing the country into abyss, ever widening the gulf between rich and
poor, Hindus and Muslims etc.
State-wide bandh ! This is probably the most irresponsible reaction from
any political party that I've seen. If you people can not come up with
any constructive criticism, at least try to stay silent.
The latest cowardly attack is yet another wake-up call to be vigilant and identify the the antinational and antisocial elements in our midst.
The perpetrators (traitors) of this hineous crime should be given exemplary punishment which should act as a deterent against terror. Although it is very obvious which communal party could be involved or patronised this violent act.. However, police should conduct a through and impartial probe by taking into confidence all sections of people from the society. Once the culprits are apprehended, their identities and affiliations should be revealed to the nation.
This is what happens when you nurture terror for political vote banks. Hope one day UPA learn this.
Supreme court itself shocked at the dire situation of the people that in our country there are 3 police persons for every politician but not even a single cop for THOUSAND ORDINARY CITIZENS. Everyone in higher level goes rhetoric now, but after a while slips into USUAL BUSINESS, forgetting everything as a whole. Its about the preventive actions that only can save innocent people from such adverse conditions.
Condemn this act of cowardice. Those who executed this are the enemy of nation and humanity. At the same time i fail to understand how these handfull of cowards are able to create terror again and again. Should this be taken as a lack of intelligence inputs inadequate trained personnel in intelligence agencies or is a lack of co-ordination between different central and state agencies. See us after 9/11 how proactive they become many terrorist plans were foiled. I am not blaming anybody at this point of time but really there is something lacking in our intelligence gathering and co-ordinating system.
I agree entirely with Vijay Jasuja. Only in our country to enter into airport you require a ticket. Only in our country every single individual is frisked for too long. It will take another 20 years to decide the case. There will be human Rights activists pleading for mercy. Our educated elite will want the culprits to be showered with motherly affection . Researchers will produce evidences to prove death penalty will not deter terrorism. Then there will be talk of Hindu terrorism, Moslem Terrorism, Christian Terrorism, Sikh Terrorism, Iyer Terrorism and Dalit terrorism. the terror of the peace lovers in India is the worst to bear. Jai Ho!
Controlling terrorism is long term process. Government should create
great awareness among people particularly to the Autorikshaw, taxi
drivers, public transport handlers about the suspicious persons,
activities etc. If people are vigilant then the crime rate would be
diminished to abysmal. Even in Delhi, there are lot of suspicious
persons who did not verified with local police. It will be a big
threat to India if it had not controlled and monitored. Shri Sushil
Kumar Shinde should order local Delhi Government/police to verify each
and every persons staying in and around delhi to safeguard Delhi.
Condemning the blatant, cowardly act of terrorism, loss of innocent
human beings, which is detrimental to the image of our Hyderabad and
India.I hope the investigators conduct an impartial, unprejudiced
investigation to arrest the enemies of our nation so that innocent
youths are not caught and then made to suffer for years to be acquitted
by the courts.
It is high time that the energy of police force is focussed on checking serious crimes and terror acts rather then harrassing innocent people for partying at home or hotels, on road for useless paper checkings. In most of the good countries, police is respected by law abiding citizens and feared by crimonals. In our country it is reverse.
Electronic media for their personal benefit want to sensationalize(or) exaggerate everything. The actual fatal rate is 14 but some of the Telugu news channels exaggerate it to 25.Is it to make the people panic or to sensationalize the issue?
Newton's 3rd law: There is always a resistive reaction for every action............exception: Indian politicians!
No public disruption or terrorist bombing can take this country back to the stone age except for the meaningless disruptions in our parliament.
Dear Politicians (leaders have a noble cause, you don't), please stop this ruckus in parliament and strive to contribute to the growth of this country.
Yet another dastardly attack by terrorists when innocent people have to
pay with their lives. This attack proves that there should be zero
tolerance to terrorism and terrorists. One only hopes that the
perpetrators of this crime are apprehended and handed down the severest
penalties. Hopefully our human rights activists and advocates of
leniency for culprits would not object this time when the perpetrators
of such a heinous crime are punished.
Govt will work here based on vote bank calculations. Indian constitution is crippled with Casticism, Secularism, regionalism, votism, terrorism. If a train runs on a distorted track it is bound to fall. It is high time to go for root cause analysis now. We need to know where is the fault... or our government is too illiterate to defend the common citizens?
