A full grown tiger was found dead in West Terai Forest Division near Corbett National Park on Sunday. With this the number of tigers that have died over the past fortnight rises to three. A pregnant tigress was found dead on January 25 and foresters shot dead a man-eater tiger on January 27. “A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death,” Chief Wildlife Warden Srikant Chandola said.

Meanwhile wildlife lovers have expressed concern over the deaths at a time when the Corbett National Park is celebrating its platinum jubilee.

Recently, a tiger was shotdead after it killed three persons in the forests on the periphery of the national park. An elephant killed three persons on the Rishikesh-Dehra Dun highway last December and a leopard was shot dead last week after it killed a three-year-old boy in Tehri district.
