At least three personnel of Border Security Force sustained injuries when suspected militants ambushed a paramilitary convoy at Gulshan Nagar Crossing on Srinagar-Jammu national highway bypass on Thursday morning.
Authoritative sources told The Hindu that suspected militants fired upon the BSF convoy at 8.30 a.m. when it is on way to Pantachowk in Srinagar from Baramulla. This is the second major militant strike on the paramilitary forces in the last eight days as five CRPF men died and 10 others got wounded in a fidayeen attack on a CRPF camp at Bemina on the same highway bypass on March 13. Both the militants of Pakistan-based LeT had also died in that attack.
Senior Police and security forces officials who rushed to the spot on Thursday morning said that all the three injured BSF men were rushed to army's 92- Base Hospital at Badami Bagh cantonment for treatment.
