March 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Mild commotion prevailed at the Zilla Parishad general body meeting here when a Congress ZPTC member carried his licenced revolver at the ZP conference hall in Karimnagar on Monday.

The ZP general body meeting was discussing the agricultural scenario in the district. Irked over the non-denial of a chance to speak over the issue, Kataram Congress ZPTC member Narayana Reddy raised to the occasion and protested.

During the period, the TRS ZPTC members noticed his revolver around his waist and raised a protest for carrying a weapon into the meeting hall.

In the melee, the TRS and the Congress ZPTC members ensued in a verbal dual. Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar found fault with the ZPTC member for carrying weapon into the meeting hall.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma said that it was not correct to carry weapons into the meeting hall and warned the member to mend his ways.

Immediately, Narayana Reddy came out of the meeting hall and handed over the weapon to his bodyguard, who was standing outside.

Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, Joint Collector Pausumi Babu, MLC P. Sudhakar Reddy and others were also present during the period.
