Young entrepreneurs can scale up global trade share

India’s current share in global trade is only two per cent and needs to be scaled up to four per cent,” opined Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade P. Sai Babu. He was addressing the management students of GITAM Hyderabad Business School at the ‘Niryat Bandhu Seminar on Foreign Trade Policy and Procedures’ under the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 sponsored by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

“Government of India is taking several measures to encourage entrepreneurial thinking especially among management students. The Niryat Bandhu Seminar is one such initiative. We are very optimistic about the potential of young entrepreneurs in scaling up the share of India in the global trade,” he said. He elaborated the need for encouraging foreign trade and its contribution to the wealth of the country.

The seminar was attended by the management students of HBS and was coordinated by Associate Professor Divya Kirti Gupta and Assistant Professor K. Sreekanth of GITAM HBS.
