Women’s Day celebrated across Karimnagar

Students of Vaageshwari College of Engineering on the outskirts of the town celebrated International Women’s Day on Saturday.

On the occasion, students and women faculty members participated in various cultural programmes. The management also conducted essay writing competition for girls and distributed prizes to winners later. College treasurer G. Shoba Devi, secretary G. Srinivas Reddy and others were present.

Meanwhile, Bhagavathi High School celebrated Women’s Day with enthusiasm. Students enacted a play on the importance of protection of girl children. School chairman B. Ramana Rao, correspondent B. Vijayalaxmi and others were also present.

Sports meet

On the occasion of Women’s Day, TNGOs district unit conducted sports meet for women employees in Karimnagar town on Saturday. Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad inaugurated the meet attended by TNGOs district president M.A. Hameed and others.

Faculty of Government Women’s Degree and PG College celebrated World Women’s Day here on Saturday by donating Rs. 5,000 food essentials to St Ann’s Social Service Society, which runs a child care centre for children suffering from HIV\AIDS. On this occasion, the college faculty also felicitated programme coordinator of St Ann’s Social Service Society Sister Joycee.
