"My mother pushed me out of the railway tracks seconds before a train rammed my mother and two younger sisters to death," a shivering nine-year-old Vanaja told the police.

The girl's mother, Dandugala Arunamma, 35, along with her two younger sisters -- Puja and Mounika -- came to Bhongir on Monday morning.

Minutes before the speeding Vizag-Bombay train was passing through, the woman along with her three daughters stepped on to the tracks to commit suicide. Speaking to The Hindu , Railway Inspector G. Janakiramulu said the incident happened at Jagadevpur gate near Bhongir. The inspector further said that the deceased was native of Yenkammagudem of Kothur mandal in Mahabubnagar district.

Her husband died a month ago due to prolonged sickness.

As she was staying at her parent's place since the death of her husband, mother and brothers of Arunamma had an argument with her on some issue on Sunday.

She along with her three daughters left the house on Sunday to Shadnagar from Kothur and they have arrived to Bhongir on Monday morning, apparently deciding to end their lives.

However, it appears that the woman changed her mind at the last minute and pushed one of her daughter's away. The police said that the woman might have been distressed following the death of her husband.

The police are waiting for her relatives to arrive to know more facts about the incident.

The mutilated parts of three diseased were sent for post mortem.

A case has been registered.
