The city has been painted pink with huge flexi boards, flags and posters of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi ahead of its public meeting here.

The TRS proposes to hold a massive public meeting on Thursday commemorating its 16th Foundation Day. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will explain people about the achievements of the State Government during the last three years in power.

A sprawling ground measuring over 1,000 acres is being spruced up at Prakashreddypeta on Hanamkonda outskirts for the purpose.

The ongoing beautification of Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet has come in handy for the meeting as one could see work in progress at many traffic junctions and medians all over the city.

Roads were repaired and dividers constructed at several areas with the medians filled with mud.

Flowering trees have been planted. Flower pots have been put up along the road median and creative artists were engaged for wall painting.

Meanwhile, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has arrived in town to take stock of the situation and is likely to stay put for next four days overseeing the arrangements for the public meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has been visiting the meeting venue daily and interacting with party functionaries on a day to day basis.

The party had constituted 13 committees with senior leaders on transport, media, publicity, parking among others. Mayor N. Narender said the decoration and other arrangements would be complete by April 26. “The Chief minister has special affection towards Warangal and we are leaving no stone unturned to make the public meeting a grand success,” he said.
