All roads, including the National Highway-44, leading to this village in Balkonda mandal were blocked by vehicles for at least 10 km making it impossible for people to reach the venue of the public meeting addressed by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao after laying foundation to the SRSP restoration scheme.

The police had a tough time to clear the traffic and it took a couple of hours to ensure the free of flow of vehicles on the highway. Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao returned to Hyderabad from Armoor, 20 kilometres from the venue.

Many of the vehicles which came from Warangal, Karimnagar and other distant places could not even reach the place as they got stuck midway. Traffic problem cropped up as the TRS leaders engaged a large number of vehicles, big and small to mobilize audience for the CM’s public meeting, which blocked the narrow village roads.

The problem aggravated as soon the Chief Minister, who arrived by road on Wednesday left by helicopter around 3.30 p.m.

Scorching heat

The general public braved scorching heat to listen to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao. With the afternoon heat turning oppressive most of the crowd searched for shade in the periphery. Noting the problem being faced by the audience, the Chief Minister, cut his speech. The public meeting that began at 2.20 p.m. concluded within 40 minutes. After ministers P. Srinivas Reddy and T. Harish Rao spoke just for 10 minutes Chief Minister addressed the audience.

Almost all the members of the State Cabinet, MPs, MLCs, MLAs and elected representatives of north Telangana were on the dais. Schools were given holiday in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy and Jagityal districts to use their buses to transport the public.
