Vaikunta (Mukkoti) Ekadasi Adyayanotsavalu got under way on a religious note in Bhadrachalam on Monday.

Scores of devotees worshipped Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy, who was adorned in the form of Matsyavataram, on the first day of the Adyayanotsavalu.

Harikathas, Sankeertanas and other devotional programmes in praise of the temple deity were organised on the premises of the temple complex later in the day.

Meanwhile, the historical Bhadradri temple complex was decorated with rows of serial bulbs on the eve of Adyayanotsavalu.

The authorities have initiated elaborate arrangements for the Teppotsavam to be organised in the Godavari on December 31 and Uttara Dwara Darshanam to be held in the famous Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine in Bhadrachalam on January 1, 2015.

According to temple sources, Sri Godadevi Kalyanam will be held at the temple kalyana mandapam on January 14. Rathotsavam will be organised on January 15.
