Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has called upon teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skills to teach students in a modern way and help brining in a qualitative change in the learning process.

“If you teach in an old way, there will not be any improvement in learning system. Science education must be provided to students from the primary school level. Science is unfolding new things every day and technology is enabling us to know about the new innovations immediately. State Government has been trying to ensure quality education to students,” he said after observing exhibits at the three-day 45th district-level science exhibition at the SFS High School, here on Monday. Teachers need to teach students ways to face competition and encourage them to compete in this current competitive world. “We have a lot many natural resources. Governments are giving impetus to research and development.

Teachers should give the right direction to students in academics,” he advised.

District Education Officer N. Rajesh said students from 275 schools took part in the science fair themed ‘science, mathematics and environment’. Health and well being, resource management and food security, waste management and water body conservation, transport and communications, digital technological solutions and mathematical modeling are the sub-themes in the exhibition, he said.

Mayor Akula Sujatha and Bhaskar Reddy, Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency member Varni were also present.
