A man and a woman were killed when a speeding train hit them near Arsapally railway gate, close to Nizamabad town early Sunday. The victims — the man aged around 40 and the woman around 35 — are yet to be identified as the bodies were mutilated beyond recognition, said Government Railway Police Sub Inspector D. Sainath.

They might have been hit by the train after midnight and the police received the information early in the morning. It was yet to be confirmed whether it was a mishap or suicide, he said.

The bodies have been shifted to the Government Hospital in Nizamabad for post-mortem.
