Two persons were killed and at least 20 others of a marriage party were injured, three of them critically, in a ghastly road accident involving a tractor trolley and a lorry on a bridge in Wyra mandal late on Friday night.
According to police sources, a lorry loaded with rice bags collided head on with a tractor trolley carrying around 22 members of a marriage party on Wyra Bridge.
Two occupants of the tractor trolley were killed on the spot and the remaining including the tractor driver sustained multiple injuries in the gruesome accident.
The two deceased as well as all the injured persons belong to Mangapuram of Thallada mandal. They were travelling to attend a wedding in Wyra when the tragedy struck them.
The injured were shifted to various hospitals in Wyra and Khammam.
