Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has assured Wipro chairman Azim Premji that the days are not far away when Telangana would be the most ideal destination for investments by national and international companies.
Mr. Premji met Mr. Rao at the latter’s camp office here on Sunday to compliment him for achieving statehood to Telangana and for forming the first government. The honcho of the IT major explained Mr. Rao the plans of his company to expand operations in Telangana. He recalled his association with Hyderabad and discussed the activities of the company verticals in the city, a release said.
The Chief Minister told Mr. Premji that the State Government had initiated sweeping changes in IT and industrial sectors. A transparent and corruption free single window system would be set up to clear applications for new units. A special chasing cell would be set up for the purpose in the CMO.
The government is making efforts to make Hyderabad a jewel in the crown for IT industry in the country. It will also have 4G and Wifi connectivity.
The government would go all out to exploit the Information Technology Investment Region status accorded to Hyderabad.
Mr. Rao said the government will effect policy changes to attract more IT parks in Telangana. The IT and industry sectors would be developed in the State with the aim to improve its economy and employment opportunities for youth.
He proposed another meeting with Mr. Premji to explore the government – company projects in Telangana. It could take place after the industrial policy of the new government is finalised shortly. The meeting was also attended by IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Principal Secretary in the CMO S. Narsing Rao.
