The Telangana model of education is the best in the country and every State in the country must learn from this model to reach out to every poor child, said the National Commission for SCs led by vice-chairman L. Murugan and others after they visited the TSWR School Gowlidoddi on Tuesday.
The team observed classroom activities, student amenities and infrastructural facilities and praised the efforts of the government in providing quality education to marginalised children under the KG-PG Mission.
They were informed that the government had allocated ₹1,500 crore for establishing social welfare residential institutions in the coming years.
“We had an immensely enriching experience and the success stories of students in academics, mountaineering, English communication and leadership are truly exceptional, while considering their poor socio-economic background”, the Commission members remarked.
The Commission for the Scheduled Caste expressed appreciation for the innovative empowerment programmes such as E-Plus Clubs, Computer labs, Voice for Girls, Super Students, Green Gurus, Teaching Assistants, Operation Blue Crystal and others introduced by the TSWREIS.
Free long-term medical coaching being offered is another project which came in for much praise.
The team patted the Secretary, Scheduled Caste Development Department Jyothy Buddha Prakash and TSWREIS secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar for their efforts in guiding and helping the students to meet the challenges of the 21st century, a press release said.
