TS Assembly to have evening sessions

Telangana Government has decided to conduct evening session of the Legislative Assembly every day during the budget session starting on November 5, to enable the members get time to discuss people-related issues.

Finance Minister E. Rajender would introduce the Budget in the Assembly and while Deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah would do so in the Council on the first day of the session. There would be a two-day holiday to enable members to study the budget properly. The debate and reply on the budget would be held on November 7, 8 and 10.

Discussion on demands

Later, discussion on demands of different departments would be taken up by dividing them into 8 groups and allocating one day debate for every group.

The session would have Question Hour and Zero Hour every day in accordance with the Parliamentary procedures and the parties would get time as per their representation in the two Houses. Further, the Legislature would decide on the need of replacing Acts of combined Andhra Pradesh with new ones with Telangana being the new State and the new Acts, if any, would be discussed in the evening session every day.

The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Legislature Secretary S. Raja Sadaram to take up the exercise on the Acts to be replaced. The meeting also decided to conduct session on Saturday too but a final decision would be taken at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting. These decisions were taken by the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who chaired a review meeting on Tuesday.
