The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has focussed on winning Narayankhed Assembly seat which fell vacant recently due to the death of sitting Congress legislator P. Kishta Reddy and, as part of its plans, the Ministers have been regularly visiting the constituency to mobilise public support.

Though the Congress has appealed to TRS to take the lead in ensuring the unanimous victory of Reddy’s son, the latter has apparently ignored the call and trying to take control of the political situation ahead of the by-election for which the date was yet to be announced.

Soon after the demise of late Kishta Reddy, the TRS eyed on the constituency and the public representatives of the ruling TRS are making it a point to visit the area without fail. More particularly, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender are visiting this constituency at least one in a week. So far both of them made more than a dozen visits to the constituency promising the people that the area would be developed on par with Siddipet and Medak.

Even Finance Minister E. Rajenderh had visited the constituency last month for distribution gas connections under Deepam scheme and promised the development for the most backward area.

On Sunday, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Information Technology K. Taraka Rama called up on the people to extend support for the development stating that it was possible only by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Participating in various programmes in Narayanakhed constituency along with Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy and MP B.B. Patil, Mr Rama Rao said that irrigation would be supplied for one lakh acres in the constituency limits and the area would be developed on par with Siddipet and Medak. He said the funds for SHG groups would be increased to Rs. 10 lakh for the groups making prompt repayment. The Minister has also extended loans to the tune of Rs. 4.88 crore, 2,500 Deepam connections and 1,200 pensions for the eligible.

He has also laid foundation for Medak division water grid works at Jukal village.
