Tree felling: 3 TRS leaders booked

A MPTC member and two Sarpanches belonging to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi figure in the list of 33 persons who stand accused in cases related to large-scale destruction of forest in the Pembi forest range recently. These persons have been booked by the police as well as the Forest Department. The accused have been arrested and produced in Nirmal court and a decision on their bail application is likely to come up on Monday. Nirmal Divisional Forest Officer C.P. Vinod Kumar told The Hindu that investigation was on and more arrests were likely in the coming days.
