Train bogie gutted on Adilabad railway platform

A bogie of the stationary Adilabad-Parli passenger train got gutted in a fire incident at Adilabad Railway station under the Nanded Division of the South Central Railway in the small hours of Thursday. No casualties or injuries were reported as the train was empty at that time.

It was halting for the night on platform number 1. According to a press release issued by the SCR, the fire was noticed at around 2.45 a.m. about 90 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train. Fire tenders put the fire out by 3.20 a.m. which helped the train depart at 5.40 a.m. after the burnt bogie was detached from the rake.

Senior officials from the SCR rushed to the spot to carryout investigations. The police is also carrying out investigations into the cause of fire.
