Top cop pedals long distances

As has been his passion for cycling for long distances the Additional Director General of Telangana State Special Police Rajiv Trivedi arrived at the TSSP 7th Battalion headquarters at Dichpally by bicycle on Sunday.

He began his journey by bicycle in Hyderabad early on Sunday and reached the battalion located 150 kilometres away around 10 a.m.

His personal staff followed him in his official vehicle. It is said that earlier he had bicycled from Vishakhapatnam to Hyderabad.

On his arrival, he was received by the battalion commandant Y. Srinivas Rao and other senior officers.

The Superintendent of Police S. Chandrashekar Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar and other officials met him later.

2,000 vacancies in TSSP battalions

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Trivedi said that there were over 2,000 vacancies of different posts in TSSP battalions and efforts would be made to fill all the vacancies and provide training to them in the current year.

New training techniques

He said the TSSP force rendered the best services during the recent elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand States and for which the Director General of Police Anurag Sarma patted all the 200 police personnel who attended duties there.

Mr. Trivedi said that the aim of the TSSP was that it should become the best special police force in the entire country and therefore training methods were being modernised.

Facilities

He said the facilities for men would be improved in days to come with the support of the government.

The Additional Director General of TSSP wanted the police battalions to improve the greenery at their headquarters and keep the surroundings clean and green.
