Test your prowess at The Hindu chess competition today

The stage is set for budding chess players to showcase their prowess at The Hinduin School Chess Competition- 2016 to be held at Jubilee Club here on July 20. The tournament is being organised under the aegis of Telangana Chess Association, affiliated to All India Chess Federation, in connection with the International Chess Day. Thyrocare is the sponsor for the event.

The competition is open in two categories: junior (from classes V to VIII) and senior (from classes IX to XII). Entry fee is Rs. 100 for each player. Spot registration is allowed at the venue at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The tournament will be played on Swiss League basis under the latest FIDE rapid rules. The players should bring their own chess sets and chess clocks. They should submit the printouts of the registered slips along with their school identity cards at the venue.

Participation certificates will be issued to all the contestants. Nine toppers will receive trophies and merit certificates at the valedictory ceremony to be held at the venue on Wednesday evening. For further details, contact the tournament convener Ch. Gopikrishna on 9440162749.
