The Telangana Government had sent a proposal to the Centre for setting up a branch of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences campus at Bibinagar in Nalgonda District.

So far 150 acres of the 200 acres required for the 960-bedded hospital has been acquired, said Health Minister Laxma Reddy. He told P. Shekar Reddy of TRS on Saturday during the Question Hour in Assembly that a 100-seat medical college and a nursing college would also be set up on the campus.

The sanction for the hospital would follow visit of a technical committee.
