The government is going to bring out a law to ensure that all its services are available through mobile and in the near future, citizens can expect land registrations, revenue records and the likes to be available in the format, said IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on Wednesday.

“The day is not far when all services will be provided through the mobile thus providing governance in citizens hands,” he said at the launch of the T App Folio by IT and Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

150 services

Right from today by downloading the app, citizens can avail up to 150 services of the GHMC, RTA, Police and T-Wallet and within a year another 1000 services will be added to it, said Meeseva and Electronics Service Delivery (ESD) Commissioner G.T. Venkateswara Rao.

The IT Secretary said the mobile apps of all government departments will be dovetailed into T App Folio and it was ready to accept apps developed by the private sector having public utility like those dealing with women’s safety and tourism.

The new app is also much better than the Central Government’s ‘Umang’ as it allows downloading of certificates along with bill payments and other services. Earlier, Mr. Rao in his introductory remarks mentioned that the app is to provide a comprehensive M-governance platform to improve citizens services with single ‘sign on’ feature for all other official apps.

Online services

“We have been working on it for the last one-and-a-half years, it is in full readiness in Android and iOS platforms. There could be initial glitches and these will be rectified as people begin to use the last mile mobile delivery platform, the biggest in the country,” he said.

The IT Minister was all praise for the IT and ECD department and pointed out that in the last few years there has been an exponential rise in online transactions through Meeseva (up to 12 crore) and T-Wallet (₹120 crore).

Soon, every public utility office like village panchayat, health centres, school and police station, among others will be provided with 2 GBps and households with 15 MBps connections through the T-Fibre project, the Minister added.

Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) Rajeshwar Tiwari informed that soon ‘Dharani’ online platform will be launched linking registration and revenue department portals offering quick registrations and mutations. He along with Civil Supplies Commissioner C.V. Anand offered to hop onto the new app. DGP M. Mahender Reddy and Bhatt of IMI Mobile, which is offering technical support, also spoke.
