In a representation to Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister Panchayat Raj & Rural Development on Tuesday, Telangana Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao sought release of ₹ 940.18 crore of material and administration cost to clear pending bills for 2016-2017 and to meet the expenditure of first quarter of 2017-2018.
In his representation on MGNREGS proposals for release of funds, wage and material, the Telangana Minister claimed that MGNREGS was being successfully implemented in Telangana and the State had utilised 100 per cent wage and material allotted to it for 2016-2017.
“As on date ₹ 171.65 cr wage payments and ₹ 493.48 cr material payment total ₹ Rs. 665.13 cr are pending for the year 2016-2017. And for the year 2017-18 for the first quarter wage amount required is ₹ 1229.28 cr, material amount required is ₹ 819.50 cr and admin cost required is ₹ 122.93 cr, total requirement of funds is ₹ 2171 10 cr, out of which ₹ 1231.52 cr sanctioned as first instalment for wage payment.”
The representation said material component amount was not released. Due to paucity of funds payments were held up to beneficiaries.
