A 28-year-old techie from the city, who was part of an international expedition to Mt. Everest South Base Camp, is stranded along with her team in the village of Dingboche following Saturday’s earthquake, in Nepal.
Poduta Neelima’s father Poduta Showrya said that his daughter, an employee of Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), was selected along with 20 others for an expedition to the base camp. Neelima was selected for the expedition after her performance during two-month training cum testing programme. She set off for Kathmandu from Delhi on April 19.
An anxious Mr. Showrya said he had not heard from his daughter since the earthquake struck on Saturday.
“The tour organisers in Bengaluru were informed by the expedition’s guide on Saturday that the group was stranded in Dingboche en-route to the base camp. We have tried to reach other members of the expedition, but have not had any success,” he said.
Ms. Neelima last spoke to her family on April 22 to inform them that she was at an altitude of 4,600 meters.
