TDP to stage dharna on Sept. 3

The Telugu Desam (TDP) district unit has decided to stage dharnas at all revenue division headquarters in Karimnagar district on September 3 in protest against the government’s move to introduce cheap liquor. At the party executive body meeting in Karimnagar on Sunday, TDP president Ch. Vijayaramana Rao called upon the party rank and file to participate in the dharnas in front of all the RDO offices and Prohibition and Excise Departments on September 3. Flaying the government for not controlling the ID liquor menace in the State, he alleged that the government was introducing cheap liquor only to increase its revenues..

He said that the introduction of cheap liquor would displace the toddy-tappers in the State. He also found fault with the Ministers for encouraging the cheap liquor.

TDP's Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Medipalli Satyam, Annamaneni Narsinga Rao, Muddasani Kashyap Reddy, S Sudhakar was present.
