Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday directed Deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah, to prepare proposals for setting up a super-speciality hospital cum medical college near Narketpalli in Nalgonda district along the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway.

There was no good hospital for the treatment of persons injured in the frequent accidents taking place on the highway and shifting them to Hyderabad every time was risky, the Chief Minister said. The hospital along with medical college should serve the people of Nalgonda district as well as those who suffer injuries in accidents on the highway.

Earlier, Congress MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy called on the Chief Minister with the specific request for setting up a super-speciality hospital cum medical college. The proposal was there for long, but the last Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had stopped short of clearing it, Mr. Venkat Reddy said.

On the power crisis in Telangana, Mr. Venkat Reddy said though the previous government to a large extent and the present government to a small extent were responsible for it, the main culprit in the present situation was the TDP government in neighbouring AP as it was not sharing the power generated in Lower Sileru and Krishnapatnam projects.
