Students told to keep abreast with research

“Genome medicine will revolutionise the field of medicine and it holds the key in the treatment of many diseases,” Harsha Vardhan Doddapaneni of College of Medicine in Texas said.

The world of medicine is witnessing rapid changes with the cutting edge technology and advanced research in the fields of genome medicine and molecular biology, he said delivering a special lecture at Telangana University here on Friday.

“The two subjects are taking the research in the field of medicine to the next level and it is going to be immensely beneficial to the humankind in the near future,” he said exhorting students and academics to focus on research for the benefit of society.

Prof. Doddapaneni was here to deliver a talk on the invitation from head of Department of Biotechnology Praveen Mamidala. He had an interactive session with the students and faculty. The special lecture was organised following a signing of an MoU memorandum of understanding between the Telangana University and College of Medicine, Texas, under the guidance of Registrar Y. Jaya Prakash Rao, Dr. Praveen said. Faculty members Kiranmayee Kasula, Mahender, Prasanna Sheela, Javeria Uzma and were present.
