Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha formally laid foundation stone for the construction of the first of its kind district teachers, research and training centre in Jagtial on Monday.

The MP called upon the teaching community to update their skills and knowledge at the research and training centre. Stating that the training was a continuous process, she pointed out that the training of trainers (teachers) was very important in the changing education scenario.

She said MLC P. Sudhakar Reddy had released ₹1 crore for the training centre which is coming up in one acre of land and the matching grant would be released by the State Government for the construction.

Mr. Sudhakar Reddy said that the district teachers, research and training centre was first of its kind in the State for imparting training to the teachers to update their skills frequently.

The centre would come up with residential blocks for women and men teachers separately to provide residential training facilities also.

Choppadandi MLA B. Shoba said the training centre would be of immense help to the community to conduct meetings and training programmes at one place.

District Collector A. Sharath, Markfed Chairman Loka Bapu Reddy, District Grandhalaya Samstha Chairman Chandrashekhar Rao, Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency Member Nagalaxmi, Market Committee Chairperson Priyanka and others were also present.
