Station Ghanpur leaders known for ‘surprise acts’

January 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - WARANGAL:

Political leaders representing the Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency have often changed their loyalties after getting elected by people on the banner of a particular party, at least for the past three decades now.

Former MLA G Vijayarama Rao and now T Rajaiah and Kadiam Srihari have all quit the parties in which they started their political careers, in search of opportunities or better political devidends. Mr Vijayarama Rao began his political career with the TDP and then joined the TRS. Later, he quit and joined the Congress hoping that it would come to power once statehood was granted to Telangana. He, however, remains a disappointed man today. Mr Rajaiah whom the Congress gave opportunities thrice to contest for the Assembly suddenly quit and joined the TRS. K.Srihari joined the TRS anticipating its rise, became an MP in 2014 and now has successfully bagged the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
