July 08, 2014 11:04 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 08:46 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The government has identified a total of 10,852 acres of land in the Ranga Reddy district, which remains unused from the prior allotments to different organisations. Also identified was 8,023 acres of unused land lying idle with the Bhoodan Yagna Board.

The Chief Commissioner for Land Administration, S.K.Sinha, in a meeting on Tuesday, has asked the district revenue officials to initiate action to confiscate the unused lands from the prior allotments, so that they can be reassigned for various industries.

Taking note of the fact that the allotments have to be cancelled only by the government bodies in whose name the land was alienated before being allotted, Mr. Sinha said a meeting will soon be conducted with the heads of the A.P Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Deccan Infrastructure and Land Holdings Limited (DILL), Rajiv Swagruha and Housing Corporation, the primary allottees of the government land.

A total of 44,000 acres of land had been alienated for allotment to various organisations over 20-30 years, out of which 10,852 acres remains unused, an official press release informed.

Mr. Sinha also asked officials to conduct mandal-wise inspection of lands assigned under ‘Bhoodan’ programme and submit the details. While a total of 21,939 acres was held by ‘Bhoodan Yagna Board’, only 13,916 acres were identified as ‘fit land’ out of which 13,510 acres have been assigned, he noted.
